Biography

William “Billy” Fraser Graham was born on January 28, 1921, to John and Annie (McKeough) Graham and grew up in Lower South River.

He enlisted in the Army at the armoury in Antigonish and served as a Sergeant with the 87th Battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery, which was stationed overseas.

His brother, Joseph, also served during the war.

William returned home on December 8, 1945, and lived on Dunmore Road until 1947. He then moved to Hamilton, Ontario, where he married Marie Conway. He worked as an undertaker and lived the remainder of his life in Hamilton.
