Biography

Private Roderick Alexander Chisholm was born January 8, 1892 in Lower South River, Antigonish County. He was the son of Alexander D. Chisholm and Janet Chisholm. Chisholm worked as a stationary engineer in Vancouver, British Columbia before enlistment. Chisholm enlisted in the 1st Depot Battalion of the British Columbia Regiment in Vancouver, British Columbia on February 25, 1918. Chisholm then joined the 16th Canadian Infantry Battalion on September 20, 1918. Private Chisholm was killed in action in Bantigny, France on October 1, 1918. He is buried in the Canadian Cemetery, Tilloy-lez-Cambrai, France.
