Biography
Robert Guy Edgar Kimball was born in 1926. During the Second World War, he joined the Merchant Marines and served aboard a naval ship in the Atlantic.
Following the war, Robert attended Dalhousie University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1947. He later worked for Prudential Insurance before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1953. During his military service, he was stationed in Trenton, Ontario; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Biloxi, Mississippi; and Greenwood, Nova Scotia. He was promoted to Flight Attendant before being discharged in 1963.
Robert continued his education while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force, obtaining his Bachelor of Education degree from Saint Mary’s University in 1961. In 1970, he received his Master of Education degree from St. Francis Xavier University.
Following his military service, Robert and his family moved to Fraser Mills. He taught at St. Andrews Rural School and later became principal of St. Andrews Consolidated School.
Robert’s first wife was Marjorie Coady, with whom he had six sons. His second wife was Mary Alice Carson, and together they had a daughter.
Robert later moved to Loch Katrine, where he lived until 1994, when he moved to Windsor. He died on August 17, 1997.
