Biography
Constance Annie ‘Nan’ (O’Donnell) Langley was born July 24th, 1919 in Haltwhistle, England to Andrew and Frances (Martin) O’Donnell.
Langley served as part of the land army in the Second World War. It was during her time in the army that she would meet and marry Canadian serviceman Brenton Langley. They were married November 18th, 1944.
In June of 1945 Langley departed England on the Scythia to immigrate to Canada, arriving at Pier 21 June 15th. She and her husband moved to Port Hood to start raising a family, before moving to Antigonish in 1967.
Langley ran a daycare for the neighbourhood children out of her home and was a dedicated member of the Antigonish Club Sixty and St James United Church.
Langley passed away December 17th, 2010 at the age of 91. Interment of her ashes took place at Union Cemetery, Port Hood.
