Biography

Private John MacGillivray was born August 6, 1866 in Dunmore, Antigonish County. He was the sister Lizzie McGillivray of South River, Antigonish county. MacGillivray enlisted in the 102nd Canadian Forestry Battalion on August 21, 1916.  Before the war he worked as a lumberman in Vernon, British Columbia. MacGillivray was discharged October 5, 1916 after being deemed medically unfit.
