Biography

James O’Hara was born June 22, 1897 in Frasers Mills, Antigonish county. He was the son of Thomas O’Hara and Mary Boyd. Prior to enlistment O’Hara worked as a farmer. On November 6, 1918 O’Hara enlisted in the 1st Depot Battalion of the Nova Scotia Regiment and was discharged due to demobilization January 15, 1919 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

After the war, O’Hara continued to farm at his Aunt and Uncle’s farm in Frasers Mills. He is listed as a farmer in Frasers Mills in the 1921 Census of Canada. O’Hara immigrated to the United States in 1924.

O’Hara died December 24, 1926 in Saint John, New Brunswick. He is buried in South River Cemetery.
