Biography

Private Hugh Donald MacPherson was born in 1924 in Frasers Mills, Antigonish County. He was the son of John Vincent MacPherson and Margaret Alice MacDonald.

MacPherson was a veteran of the Second World War. His brother Angus Lauchlin MacPherson also served in the war.

MacPherson eventually moved to Ontario and married Marie Banyay. They moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1961 where he worked as a stationary engineer. They had a son and a daughter. MacPherson was killed in a train accident in Welland Ontario on June 20, 1971. He is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario.
