Biography
George Chayko was born in 1923 in La Pas, Manitoba. During the Second World War, he served aboard HMCS Oakville as a stoker.
Following the war, Chayko lived in Antigonish, where he became a dedicated member of the Lions Club. He was married to Annis Madeline Madden of East Bickard, who passed away in 1960.
George Chayko passed away in Antigonish on March 22, 2005, at the age of 82.
