Biography

Francis Phillip Ryan  was born October 1, 1899 in Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Francis P. Ryan of Grand Falls, New Brunswick and Hannah Noonan of Medford Massachusetts. Ryan served with the United States Navy from 1917-1918.

Following the war, Ryan worked as an automobile mechanic in Medford Massachusetts in 1920. He married his wife Sarah Ann in 1922 and was residing in Lynn Massachusetts by 1929. He moved to Lower South River in 1958 where he worked as an automobile mechanic.

Ryan died August 12, 1965 at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax. He is buried in Sainte Croix Parish Cemetery, Pomquet, Antigonish County.
