Biography

Duncan MacKenzie Kiely was born in 1902 in Lower South River to Thomas and Isabella (MacKenzie) Kiely.

During the Second World War, he enlisted with No. 5 Fortress Signal Company, Royal Canadian Corps of Signals, and held the rank of Signalman.

Duncan was discharged in Sydney on March 18, 1941, after being found unable to meet the required physical standards. His brother, John Joseph Kiely, also served during the war.
