Biography
General Daniel Boyd was born April 26, 1895 in Frasers Mills, Antigonish County. He was the son of Angus J. Boyd and Anne MacDonald. His older brother Joseph Angus Boyd also served in the First World War.
Before the war, Boyd was employed as a clerk by CKR in the General Office in Moncton, New Brunswick. Boyd enlisted on October 16, 1916 in Woodstock, Carleton County, New Brunswick. He served as a gunner in the 6th Battery of the Canadian Field Artillery in France. While serving overseas, Boyd was gassed and never fully recovered.
Following the war, Boyd lived with his sister Marcella Boyd in Moncton. His occupation is listed in the 1931 Census of Canada is a returned soldier.
Boyd died in Moncton, New Brunswick on March 1, 1937.
