Biography

Private Allan Angus McDonald was born on December 25, 1889 to Margaret and Allan McDonald in Caledonia Mills, Antigonish County. Prior to the war, he worked as a linesman.

Private Allan McDonald was part 1st Depot Battalion of the Nova Scotia Regiment and engaged in conflicts in France.

Following the war, Private McDonald immigrated to the United States in 1922 and worked as a linesman for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company in Providence, Rhode Island. Private McDonald married Clara Walsh from East Erinville, Guysborough County who immigrated to the United States in 1920. Private Allan Angus McDonald passed away on February 3, 1986 at age 92 and is buried with his wife at Saint Ann Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island.
