Biography

Alexander William Joseph “Sandy” Sinclair was born on August 8, 1917 at the House of Providence Maternity Hospital on Hawthorne Street in Antigonish, Antigonish County. He was the son of Malcolm Sinclair and Elizabeth Anne “Jessie” MacDonald. He lived on his family’s farm in Frasers Mills, Antigonish County until October of 1921 when he travelled to the United States with his family. By 1931 the family had returned to Frasers Mills.

Sinclair served in the Second World War. His brother Charles A. Sinclair and sister Mary Margaret Sinclair also served.

After the war Sinclair married Eileen Chisholm of Pomquet River. He immigrated to back to Massachusetts in 1946 where he worked as a carpenter.

Sinclair died on October 23, 1973 in Watertown, Massachusetts. He is buried in St. Patricks Cemetery, Watertown, Massachusetts.
