Biography
Alexander “Bernie” Daniel Bernard Chisholm was born on August 21, 1920, to John C. and Annie (MacIntosh) Chisholm in St. Andrews.
Bernie served in the Signal Corps during the Second World War, seeing service in Holland and Italy.
After the war, Bernie attended St. Francis Xavier University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia, where he qualified as a civil engineer. After graduation, he worked with the Department of Transportation until his retirement.
He married Joan MacIsaac, and together they had five children.
Bernie passed away in Truro on June 8, 2010, at the age of 89. He was laid to rest in Antigonish.
