Biography
Alexander Cameron was born on August 9, 1907, in Loch Katrine, Antigonish County, to Campbell and Catherine (MacHattie) Cameron.
Alexander was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in Germany with the Royal Canadian Army Engineer Corps.
After the war, Alexander married Virginia MacNeil in 1952. He worked as a supervisor of mining activities for Pickle Crow Gold Mines in Ontario from 1935 to 1959. He then worked for a couple of years as a superintendent in Val-d’Or, Quebec.
From 1961 until his retirement in 1977, he worked as a shop supervisor for Warren Equipment in North Bay, Ontario, where he and his wife continued to live.
Alexander passed away in North Bay on December 7, 1980, and was buried in Cummings Cemetery in Upper South River.
